My Story
Danielle Slater
I’m Danielle, a psychotherapist and therapeutic coach, and I believe deeply in the healing power of nature, relationship, and personal connection.. My approach combines psychotherapy with therapeutic coaching to enhance emotional well-being. Offering sessions in person, online, and through eco-therapy walks, I provide a safe and nurturing space for growth and self-discovery. My aim is to empower individuals to embrace change and improve their lives.

Danielle Slater M.A. Psych., PGDip. Psych. UKCP accredited.
An experienced and registered adult counsellor & psychotherapist.
Background
My early life began in the diverse and culturally rich central London (a far cry from the forest I live in today!). I was raised by progressive parents who were artists and writers and who later became esoterics. London’s melting pot of people, along with its richness and diversity, left a lasting and formative impression on me both psychologically and spiritually, for which I am grateful. However, the "big smoke" never truly felt like home. London was fast-paced, transient and the wealth gap was wildly incomprehensible, which led me to know that I had to leave at some point.

After a decade-long career in marketing, with a vision to become more creative, the experiences of loss, grief, and trauma finally brought me to a place of seeking a training program that explored the fabric of human experience from a much deeper perspective. I began training as a psychotherapist at CCPE in London back in 2009 and completed my MA in 2016.

In addition to my therapy practice, I am also a training supervisor, Head of Supervision, Course Director, and Lecturer at CCPE, having come full circle from student to member of staff.

I support students and qualified therapists in their client work and adopt a relational style of working—a mode of practice that is radically curious, challenges assumptions and biases, and believes that wisdom emerges from the relationship in the presence of the here and now. This work has a reach far beyond the therapy room and represents a humanistic-spiritual approach that is known to improve relationships in all areas and dimensions of our lives, reducing discord, "othering," and a sense of being untethered in this vast and complex world.
Qualifications
In this new world of pop-up therapists - some AI, some newbies without rigorous training it seems important to outline my qualifications below. Rest assured if we work together I bring the training, legacy, competence and wisdom that comes from years of study, therapy and real world experiences to our work.
I facilitate therapy in and around St Albans, Hertfordshire and London. I work both in person and online via Zoom.

I hold a full UKCP clinical registration and have over 10 years of experience supporting clients in both personal therapy and therapeutic coaching.
